Om Naseem

Naseem Abbas –(live performer) is one of leading theatre actor/vocalist & composer from Lahore Pakistan. As vocalist /composer, Naseem has performed throughout Pakistan and has extensively toured in India, Japan, Korea, Norway, Egypt, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh and Singapore.

He was a part of cross-cultural collaborative musical theater project Cry of Asia 2 organized by the Asian Council for the Peoples Culture, Philippines in 1995 and the Japan Foundation ‘ 5Asian Nation Collective Project in 2004/05 mainly as vocalist.

Music is one of the major features of Naseem ‘s oeuvre. Worked as Composer/Vocalist and actor for Ajoka’s theatre productions Lahoo Suhag (an adaptation of Lorka’s Blood Wedding) , Kala Meda Bhes , Chal Melay Noon Chaliay, Border Border, Bullha, Amreeka Challo and Sairah aur Mairah He recorded his compositions titled Navaan Tamasha .Also recorded three albums as vocalist. Participated in Japan Foundation’s Memories of a Legend project in Tokyo, Kyoto and New Delhi mainly as a vocalist and composer of some pieces. He was also a part of Ibrahim Qureshi’s 5-streams as vocalist in Singapore.

Recently working at Lahore Grammar School (LGS) as coordinator Musicology.
